| Mullica Hill Quilt Company’s Courtyard Quarterly Volume 2, Number 2 Summer 2008 “Supplying the Fabric of Our Heritage” Hello Sunshine(s)! Just a little greeting my mom used to use. I am sure she wouldn’t mind my borrowing it to use here. It is just so appropriate coming off the heels of winter. I was delighted with the beautiful spring that we were blessed with having this year and hate to see it go, but look forward to the warm, fun and lazy days of summer which have actually already peeked out a bit. As many of you know we had a bit of heartache this year with my mom’s sudden passing and I would like to personally thank each one of you who shared stories, hugs, prayers, and words of comfort. You carried me through a very difficult time; I have been deeply touched and thank you all. The writing of this newsletter comes directly on the heels of returning from Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon. With my partner in crime Debbie Redfield at my side, we explored every nook and cranny of market. It was our first quilt market and our first visit to Portland. The city is beautiful and the weather was perfect, we couldn’t have asked for better. I cannot wait to share all of the beautiful fabric lines, new patterns and books, and creative class ideas and products that we have brought back with us. It was so inspiring to be surrounded by such beauty and creativity and it was our privilege to be in the company of the best and brightest in the industry. I hope that the shop will represent the same inspiration for you as we introduce our purchases to you over the next several months. While I am on the topic of quilt market I want to offer a very special thank you to Debbie and Joanne. To my dear friend, Debbie: She is such a great collaborator. She offers invaluable wisdom, support, and an un-dying dedication to the success of my business. I love traveling with her and I know that we were born to be the best of friends. It just works! To my new friend, Joanne: She held down the fort for me and made it possible for me to attend this wonderful and essential event. Joanne is a special person who I have had the good fortune to have had come into my life. I want her to know that I am forever grateful for her many talents and her generosity in sharing them with the shop and our customers. On the following pages you will find our new summer class roster. As always our teachers have worked hard to bring some fresh classes and new ideas for you to explore. You will also notice that some of our favorites are being offered again. I ask that you continue to share your thoughts and ideas about the classes that are offered and those you would like to see offered, as well as any comments regarding the shop and products that we carry. Your input is invaluable and always appreciated. In addition to our classes we have a few surprises in store for those dog days of summer just to liven it up a bit and take advantage of the warm weather. We will be hosting our 2nd Annual Yardage Sale, Monthly SaturDemoDays, and will be introducing, “The Company’s Clearance Corner”. Here you will find the same great, high-quality fabrics at fabulous prices. In the months ahead I am thrilled to be launching Washday Ladies Club TM by Jo Timko of Molly Kat Designs. The club begins in September and Jo has been diligently working on beautiful, unique patterns for the club since early spring. It promises to be fabulous and I thought I would mention it now so that all you 30’s girls can start getting ready. Don’t forget to take some time to review our back page calendar or visit our website www.mhquiltco.com for the dates of all of our upcoming events. I hope to see all of you soon! Piece and good stitches! Annette |
