“Supplying the Fabric of Our Heritage”

Greetings friends,

I hope that all of you are doing well and are ready for the wonderful colors of fall.  I
know that I am!  Fall happens to be one of my favorite times of the year.  The crisp,
cool, clean air makes it easier to bury myself under the fabric that I am working with
at the moment.  The color of the changing leaves inspires me for the dozen or so
projects that are always rolling around in my head.  It’s a shame we only have two
hands.  I am sure that I don’t have to tell you that I love quilting.  I love fabric,
notions, sewing machines, magazines, and books about quilting.  I love the time I
spend quilting and the time I spend with quilts on my lap.  I love the people that quilt.
I love spending time with them, especially my customers.  Having said this, the last
several months have been quite an adventure.  I have been fortunate in having the
opportunity to surround myself with the people and things that I hold so dear to my
heart.  I have also made countless new friends.  The shop has evolved and
continues to become the haven that I had imagined long ago when I began dreaming
about opening a quilt shop.

Our class roster for the summer was very well received and went beautifully.  I wasn’
t at all surprised as I have such a wonderful teaching staff.  We have worked very
hard to bring you an exciting and versatile Fall/Winter roster and I know that you won’
t be disappointed as you peruse the offerings.  I welcome two newcomers to our
teaching staff this fall.  Jean Ficca, a professional longarm quilter and teacher at the
former, A Patch of Country and JoAnne Ross, who, after spending time doing
individual instruction, has decided to embark on the classroom setting.  Both of
these wonderfully talented quilters will be offering exciting projects that I know you
will enjoy.  Register early, they’re already hot and filling up quickly!

In addition to a great class roster, we have several exciting events taking place over
the next few months.  Our First Annual “Yard” Sale will take place from August 20th
through September 1st.  You will find savings of 15% -25% on a selection of our
favorite fabric lines and products.  It promises to be a “don’t miss” event.

In September, we will be hosting our second Trunk Show, “Let it Snow” by Sharon
Reynolds of Tenderberry Stitches.  Anyone who was here during the “Ghosts in the
Pumpkin Patch” trunk show knows how fabulous that event turned out to be.  “Let it
Snow” promises to be even more enchanting!

We will be hosting, “Quilts in the Courtyard” during the Mullica Hill Fall Festival in
October.  This will be an annual event and promises to be my personal favorite as
the stars of this show will be my wonderfully talented customers.  You will be given
the opportunity to exhibit, as well as sell your quilts (if you are so inclined).  Please
sign-up early if you would like to participate in this event, as space will be limited.

Of course it is that time of year when we all begin thinking about Christmas.  Please
make sure to stop in the shop and see the beautiful Christmas fabrics that have
come in.  We have scheduled several classes with quick, easy, fun projects that will
make wonderful gifts for this special time of year.  We are also introducing our
Christmas Wish Box.  Please complete a wish list card the next time you are in the
shop.  We will have your “wishes” available for those who are doing their gift
shopping this season.

Take some time to review our back page calendar for the dates of all of these
events.  I hope to see all of you soon!

Piece and good stitches!
