It is a magical mystery and the outcome is a tailored pillowcase with a separate edging and accent strip. It finishes with a French seam and is so easy that you just won’t believe it. This makes a wonderful crib quilt for baby or make it bigger as a romantic throw. You will learn how to make mitered borders around each block. This project is a real showpiece quilt that grabs everyone’s attention because of its sweet, soft appeal. Simple rail fence blocks with a coordinating outer border make this a great, “next project” for the beginner. This quilt makes a beautiful wedding or shower gift for the summer bride. Level: AB - E Supplies: M, RB, SB Tues, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22 – 10:00 am to 12 pm Basic Bindings Instructor: Joanne Enos Cost: $17.00 Learn how to make a basic, accurate French binding with mitered corners and an extremely easy finish. This class includes techniques to calculate the fabric required for your bindings. You will make a sample in class that you can use as future reference so that your bindings will be perfect every time. Whether you need a lunch bag, grocery bag, beach bag, quilt bag, or laundry bag this one fits the bill. Go Green and create a great gift for family, friends, teachers, or yourself! Level: A Supplies: P, M, RB, SB Thurs, 7/10 – 10 to 12:30 pm OR Fri, 7/25 – 1 to 3:30 pm OR Weds, 8/20 – 6:30 to 9 pm Sweet Jubilee Instructor: Kathy Ziegenfuss Cost: $37.00 This quilt is perfect for the jelly roll enthusiast. The body of the quilt is made using 2-1/2" wide strips. By sewing and flipping rectangles you create a braid that is then cut into blocks. This quilt can be scrappy or a planned color scheme, whichever you choose. Level: AB - E Supplies: M, RB, P, SB Weds, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30 – 10:00 am to 12:30 pm OR Thurs, 7/24, 7/31, 8/7 – 6:30 pm to 9 pm Glistening Waters Instructor: JoAnne Ross Cost: $47.00 This fun quilt features horizontal rows of charming pieced fish swimming in opposite directions. Using only two blocks, a square, and a half-square triangle, it goes together quickly. Half-square triangles are strip-pieced and give you a chance to hone your piecing skills. This is a great pattern for those beautiful "watery" colored and patterned batiks but would also be stunning in bright fabrics for a child’s room. Free pattern with Registration! Level: AB-E Supplies: M, RB, SB Weds, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6 – 2 pm to 4 pm OR 6 pm to 8 pm String Quilt as You Go Instructor: Joanne Enos Cost: $37.00 Well, Joanne had her hands full with this one – we just couldn’t offer it enough and each group had more fun than the one before it. An easy quilt to make and, “When you are done, you are done!” The quilting is done as you go. This quilt can be made in flannels or regular cottons and can be finished scrappy or with sashing and a binding – you decide. Level: AB - E Supplies: M, RB, SB, Walking Foot Sat, 7/26 & 8/16 – 10 to 12:30 pm OR Weds, 8/13 & 8/27 – 6:30 to 9 pm Basic Borders Instructor: Joanne Enos Cost: $17.00 Learn how to properly add borders to your quilts so that they don’t “wave” or the center of your quilt doesn’t “flop”. These things happen to all of us due to bias edges and it is easy to take control. You will also learn how to calculate the fabric needed for your borders. Well, this beautiful beginning paper-pieced mini-quilt or table topper is just the place to start. A beautiful result and a great technique! Level: AB-E Supplies: B, M, RB, SB Fri, 8/1 & 8/15 – 10 to 12:30 pm OR Tues, 8/5 & 8/12 – 6:30 to 9 pm Square Dance Scrappy Instructor: Jo Timko Cost: $47.00 Reminiscent of times gone by this scrappy reproduction fabric quilt has a soft and comforting feel created with the ease of strip-piecing. Level: AB-E Supplies: M, RB, SB Tues, 8/5, 8/12, 8/19 – 10:00 am to 12 pm Ashley to Market Instructor: Kathy Ziegenfuss Cost: $47.00 This quick and simple bag is easy to make using 2-1/2" wide strips. It is a lined bag with 8 inside pockets and over the shoulder straps. You can use a jelly roll or strips you cut yourself. Either way it’s a blast and beautiful! Level: AB - E Supplies: P, M, RB, SB, Weds, 8/6, 8/13, 8/20, 8/27 – 10:00 am to 12:30 pm OR Thurs, 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2 - 6:30 pm to 9 pm Fall’s Splendor Instructor: Kathy Ziegenfuss Cost: $47.00 This quilt combines the beautiful colors of fall and a unique log cabin layout. Pumpkin and acorn appliqués are fused and blanket stitched by machine or by hand, whichever you choose. We will be using speed sewing techniques to put your blocks together quickly.
