Courtney’s Journey (Shadowbox)
Instructor – Patsy Madden
Cost - $40.00

If you are a fan of batik fabric, this is the one for you!  This impressive quilt of
large rectangles with a shadowing effect is surely an eye-catcher.  You will want to
work on this quilt quickly just so that you can see exactly how your fabric selection
comes together.  Of course you can choose from any fabrics not just batiks and
isn’t that part of the fun!  A fat-quarter friendly pattern.

Stained Glass Tote

This beautiful quilted tote bag incorporates a mosaic tile design.  The bag
measures 17”x17”x3” and has 2 inside pockets.  No bias or iron on tapes with this
technique.  It’s a great size bag with a great design for all of your shopping needs.

Notebook Organizer

This quilted organizer holds a thick spiral notebook and has six pockets for
keeping papers, business cards, calendars, and pens handy.  We will cover
various quilting techniques including free motion and how to use the walking foot
with guides.

Stained Glass Wall Quilt

This beautiful 30x30 stained glass wall quilt uses a simple technique.  This is a
perfect use for a beautiful focus fabric that you do not want to cut up.  There are
no bias tapes or iron on tapes making for a great technique and easy construction.

can use a Jelly Roll, regular yardage or just scraps.  When looking at this quilt it
seems like it must be more involved but guess what, nope!  Come and find out
how easy it is to make this exquisite quilt!!

Introduction to Quilting

A staple on our calendar and a must have for the beginner!  Have you always
wanted to quilt but thought it was too hard?  Here’s your opportunity to become
comfortable with the quilting world.  We will construct a table runner from start to
finish. Matching placemats will be cut out in class, but constructed at home.
Techniques include: rotary cutting, machine piecing, creating the quilt sandwich,
machine quilting using a walking foot, and binding.  When you complete this class
you will be ready to take your first project class with confidence.

Shadow Square Quilt

This great quilt is fun to piece and goes together easily!  The technique creates
an optical illusion and the end result is just simply - really cool!  Showcase an
entire fabric line with pre-cut charm squares or choose fabric from your stash!  
Either way it’s a winner.

Garden Trellis

Would you like to try a Jelly Roll Quilt or find another way to make an easy eye
catching quilt?  This Garden Trellis Quilt is an easy sew.  There is also a nice
lesson to learn in dealing with bias edges and how to handle putting on the
borders with all of the bias edges.

Pollo Loco (Make and Take Project)

Once you make one of these cute chicken pin cushions, you'll want to make a
whole barnyard full.  They look great in any fabric; 30's, Civil War, batiks or
anything in between.  Crushed walnut shell stuffing will be provided by the
instructor.

Lucky Stars

Stars without the worries of Points!!!  This wonderful quilt is a fat-quarter friendly
quilt that works with all types of fabrics.  Flannels, thirties, civil war, batik, floral,
kids, baby.  I've seen this quilt done in many different lines and each one is nicer
than the last.  It is quick to make up and has a great wow effect.

Thangles Club – Project Three, Milky Way

Offered here for the second time, this is the third in our Thangles Club Class
series and it’s a definite winner!  This quilt is made with two sizes of the classic
Sawtooth Star block.  We will use 1.75" Thangles and 3.5" Thangles to create one
big star and two smaller stars from one fat quarter.  The border is made from the
remaining pieces of the fat quarters that you have used.  I just love a scrappy
border!  Needless to say this is a fat quarter friendly quilt and I love that too!  So
come and make this beautiful Milky Way quilt with us.

Trip Around the World

T-Shirt Quilt

Are you looking for a one-of-a-kind graduation or Father's Day gift? If you’ve been
saving bags of t-shirts in hopes of one day turning that pile into a keepsake, here’
s the answer.  We'll stabilize the shirts, add sashing and turn that pile of shirts into
a quilt full of memories. Each student receives a one-on-one session with the
teacher to stabilize her shirts and then away the class goes!  The best part is
seeing everyone’s quilt come together, each one becoming an individual work of
love.

Buggy Barn Heart Crazies

For this quilt we will stack fat quarters, cut them apart, shuffle them, and then sew
them back together again.  A crazy heart will appear in the center of each finished
block.  The use of freezer paper and squaring of blocks will be covered.

Civil War Tribute 2010 Block-of-the-Month Workshop

Our new BOM for 2010 is simply spectacular with some interesting piecing
techniques that really make a difference.  In each workshop we will review these
techniques, work on our blocks, and answer any questions that you might have as
you progress.  We will add additional classes at your request.

Friday Night Sit-n-Stitch

This is time just for us.  Sit and sew on whatever project you like.  Is there
something that you have questions about, a new technique you’d like a hand with,
or a project that just needs to get done.  Anything you like, it’s up to you.  We’ll
enjoy some chattin’, snackin’, and stitchin’.  Bring a bag lunch or we’ll all get
together and order out.  Whatever you like, it’s just for us stitchers.  We can’t think
of a better way to spend a Friday night!  Sign up early, space is limited.

Class Policies

  • ·        Class fees are due at registration in the form of cash, credit card, or
    check made payable to Mullica Hill Quilt Company.
  • ·        Registration can be made by phone, mail, or in-person.
  • ·        Registration form with supply list will be issued at time of registration.  
  • ·        Class sizes are limited, please register early.
  • ·        Class fee is for individual student.  Family members, friends, or
    children are not permitted to attend class with you.
  • ·        Mullica Hill Quilt Company will attempt to carry the supplies that our
    instructors indicate.  Patterns/books, supplies, and fabric should be
    purchased prior to the date of class.    
  • ·        If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment a full refund will be
    issued in the form of original payment.
  • ·        If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your class attendance,
    please provide a 7 day notice in order to receive a full refund in the form of
    original payment.  Less than a 7 day notice will result in a forfeiture of the
    class fee.
  • ·        In the case of inclement weather, which results in a class being
    cancelled, every effort will be made to reschedule the class to take place at
    a similar day and time.  Please call Annette at 856-430-0458 when
    questioning a cancellation due to weather conditions.
  • ·        Mullica Hill Quilt Company has excellent quality Pfaff sewing machines
    and Singer Featherweights for use during class at nominal fees.  Please let
    us know at registration if you would like to reserve a machine for your class.  
    Students must provide thread for the machine and bobbin and should arrive
    early to class to familiarize themselves with the machine that they will be
    using.
